Continental Tire Quarterly Update



Phase 1
• Tire Plant Development Announced in February 2016
• Groundbreaking held in November 2016
• 700 acres cleared before construction • Construction began March 2018
• Tire production is set to begin early 2020
• Plant will produce large truck and bus commercial vehicle tires for the U.S. market
• 2,000+ trees and 32,000 samplings planted


• Opened November 2018
• Used for job interviews, employee on-boarding and training
• Location of Clinton Entry Conference. The event focuses on team building across the board and the company’s Core Values: Freedom to Act, Passion To Win, Trust, For One Another
• Built to LEED Silver standards and includes features that promote energy efficiency and sustainability, such as solar panels and advanced utility metering. EMPLOYMENT
• 2,500 jobs will be created by 2028
• 180+ positions have been filled – IT, HR, Finance, Engineering, Production, Purchasing o Majority from Hinds County followed by Rankin County and Madison Counties
• 250 by the end of 2019, 400 by the end of 2020

o Maintenance Technician Program awarded scholarships and a nine, week paid internship at the Mt. Vernon plant to eight (8) Hinds Community College students. Seven (7) are now working full-time for Continental. o Global HR Graduate Program: Trainee Marnise Webb (Graduate of Tougaloo College and Mississippi College School of Law) was selected for the two-year program that includes assignments in Mississippi, South Carolina, Germany and Portugal before working in Clinton full-time. o Internship Program: Three college students will spend the summer as interns in our engineering departments including Jim Hill High School graduate James Leggett and Warren Central High School graduate Sarah Chipley.

Hinds County Is Moving Forward
